Legato Completes Acquisition of OTG

Longtime Windows storage software vendor OTG Software is officially part of Legato Systems Inc. Both companies' shareholders formally approved the acquisition, Legato announced Tuesday.

Rockville, Md.-based OTG Software specializes in data storage, data access and e-mail management solutions. The company's products are known by the Xtender brand, such as Diskxtender and Emailxtender.

"The acquisition of OTG gives us additional software assets and intellectual capital in content, e-mail and storage management required to address the growing demand among our customers for open, integrated solutions from one source," David Wright, Legato's chairman, president and CEO, said in a statement.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Legato concentrates on storage management and high availability software. Major products include Legato NetWorker, Celestra, GEMS, SmartMedia, Co-StandbyServer, RepliStor and SnapShotServer.
