No Microsoft Security Bulletins Planned for March

After releasing 12 security bulletins in February, Microsoft has zero new security bulletins on tap for March.
Microsoft disclosed its plans not to release any bulletins on Thursday as part of its advance notification service, which warns users three business days ahead of time how many bulletins might be coming in that month's "Patch Tuesday." The notifications tell users how many bulletins to expect, what products are involved, how severe the bulletins will be and whether they will need to reboot systems.
The advance notification is tentative, and Microsoft could still develop and release bulletins by March 8.
The Feb. 8 Patch Tuesday was unusually busy. The 12 bulletins included eight critical bulletins and carried fixes for a total of 17 vulnerabilities.
Microsoft's Windows Update and Automatic Updates infrastructures also distributed a non-security hotfix in February for Windows XP Service Pack 2 for a problem that caused blue screen failures. Users are still waiting on a hotfix for the same problem in Windows Server 2003.
