Microsoft renamed one product, and released new test versions of some of its System Center 2012 management applications.
At the SQL PASS Summit in Seattle this week, Microsoft dropped the Denali code name and called the product SQL Server 2012 officially. Also, the company released some information on its efforts to support Hadoop open source technology.

Security Advisory (2607712) got a re-release yesterday from Microsoft after the previously flawed update failed to include all blocked Web certificates from a Dutch certificate firm.
Microsoft described improvements in its next-generation server technology, code-named "Windows Server 8," at its Build conference for developers.
This looks to be a lighter patch month, with no "critical" items making it into in September's Microsoft Security Bulletin.
