Ever since NetManage (
www.netmanage.com)
bought rival Wall Data (
www.walldata.com)
in October, other companies in the host management market have been rushing in
to grab Wall's Rumba customers.
The latest entry into this fray came today, when Eicon Technology (www.eicon.com) introduced its "Off the
Wall" free migration program for users of Rumba to switch to Eicon's Aviva
family of products.
"Off the Wall" provides Wall Data customers with a one-time
opportunity to update their current Rumba emulation package to a parallel
offering from the Aviva family of host access products. Eicon will match both
product type and number of licenses.
Eicon will also provide its standard maintenance service during the terms of
the customers' Wall Data maintenance agreement to the termination date or for
up to one year. Eicon's "Off the Wall" program is effective
immediately and will run through January 31, 2000.
Aviva’s PC-to-host connectivity products deliver host applications to the
desktop or Web browser via SNA or TCP/IP-centric networks. The family consists
of Aviva for Desktops, Aviva Web-to-Host Server, Aviva for Java, Aviva for
Terminal Servers, and Aviva HostPrint Server. -- Isaac Slepner
