Microsoft Corp. has named Compaq Computer Corp. as a Worldwide Prime Integrator for Exchange 2000. The Prime Integrator designation means that Microsoft has reviewed Compaq’s support services and endorsed them for enterprises rolling out Exchange 2000.
"We are happy to receive this anointment," says Lex Dekkers, director of knowledge management and messaging solutions for Compaq (www.compaq.com). Compaq has trained and added support technicians to aid users deploying Exchange 2000. "We’re taking the next step every time we launch new Exchange services", says Dekkers.
Exchange 2000, to be released this summer, is a messaging and communications program designed to complement Active Directory. The complexity of both Active Directory and Exchange 2000 makes the change no easy task.
Dekkers feels that Compaq’s Proliant series of enterprise servers are an ideal solution for exchange but reminds that the Prime Integrator status is based on Compaq’s support services and practices. - Christopher McConnell
