Cisco Rolls Out LAN Management Solution

Cisco Systems Inc. released the CiscoWorks2000 LAN Management Solution, a Web-based collection of applications that delivers flexibility, automation, and new capabilities for managing content-aware local area and campus networks. The solution offers tools for managing both LAN switching and routing environments.

LAN Management Solution includes the campus manager, a suite of new Web-based applications for the switched campus network environment which provides Layer 2 device discovery and mapping, Layer 2 connectivity analysis, VLAN/LANE and ATM configuration services, and end-station tracking capabilities. It also includes the content flow monitor, a performance monitoring application for Cisco server load-balancing devices. CiscoView 5.0, a Web-based version of Cisco's graphical device management application, enables network managers to access real-time device status and operational and configuration functions.
