Veritas Software Corp. rolled out version 3.0.2 of Veritas Volume Replicator, version 2.0 of Veritas Storage Replicator, and version 3.0 of Veritas File Replicator, providing a new family of data replication products. The new family enables administrators to create and manage multiple copies of business-critical information across the global enterprise.
Volume Replicator 3.0 is integrated with Volume Manager and mirrors data to remote locations over any IP network. It supports both fully synchronous and asynchronous data replication, allowing users to optimize data currency and performance.
Storage Replicator 2.0 delivers automated data replication for Web or file server load balancing, distribution of software or content from one to many servers, and off-host processing for backup and recovery. This product can be used as part of an advanced data protection solution by dynamically centralizing data over the LAN or WAN from many servers to one, providing a staging platform for off-host backup and fast recovery to the distributed servers from disk.
File Replicator 3.0 keeps multiple Web and/or file servers fully synchronized and mounted simultaneously. With File Replicator, all replicated file systems are available for use at secondary systems. The product offers bi-directional operation, delivering peer-to-peer load balancing for file servers.
