Getting Lean and Mean: Windows 2000-Ready Thin Clients
Wyse has been in the terminal business since 1981, giving
it nearly two decades of experience in server-based computing. The Wyse 50 and
60 series are among the most commonly emulated mainframe terminals. Wyse’s Windows
terminals support both Microsoft RDP and Citrix ICA, allowing them to operate
as a client to Citrix WinFrame or MetaFrame servers, Windows NT 4.0 Terminal
Servers, or Win2K or MetaFrame for Win2K servers.
The Winterm 3200LE is Wyse’s entry-level Windows terminal.
This terminal uses Windows CE as its operating system. It features SVGA graphics
and a USB port for local peripherals. It includes built-in emulation of many
older Wyse terminals, making it ideal for legacy connections to mainframe computers.
Wyse has an extensive line of other Windows terminals, with the top-of-the-line
machine being the Wyse 8360SE. This terminal uses embedded Windows NT 4.0 as
its operating system, which means that it supports both local and terminal-based
applications.
Wyse also offers WyseWorks Remote Administrator 3000 for
remote control of Winterm terminals. It can perform all management functions
from a central terminal, including firm-ware updates.

organizations.
