Sunbelt Software announced the availability of a new
subscription-based, automated network security service.
QualysGuard enables
system, network, and security managers to manage their network vulnerabilities
on an ongoing basis and enhance their e-commerce security and hacker
resistance.
QualysGuard, developed by Qualys Inc., is an artificial
intelligence (AI)-based vulnerability scanner that maps subscribers’ network
perimeters, scans for holes, and generates immediate, browser-based prioritized
reports of its findings. IT managers can then fix discovered security breaches
in order of their severity.
QualysGuard scans from securely hosted centralized servers
located on the Internet. Subscribers need no software, hardware, and no
specialized expertise to use the service, only a browser and password. An
average of four updates per day are centrally made to the vulnerability
knowledge base without any action required from the subscriber. Updates are
immediately available to the security auditing process.
QualysGuard was introduced into the IT market via the
W2Knews, an electronic newsletter published by Sunbelt, and is available for
download from Sunbelt’s Web site.
