NetIQ’s Chariot Available to Test Itanium Processor

NetIQ Corp. today announced that its network
testing tool, Chariot 4.0, will be available for use to test the performance of
software and hardware built on
Intel Corp.’s
forthcoming Itanium processor.
Chariot enables enterprises to predict how well their
network infrastructures will perform.
By providing comprehensive reports, corporations can take
the necessary steps if the tests show that the applications are now performing
up to standards.
Using Chariot, service providers will be able to evaluate
Itanium-based servers, enabling them to optimize performance for future
deployment. Network equipment vendors planning on selling devices based on the
Itanium processor will be able to use Chariot to ensure that their products
will perform at their expected levels.
Chariot Performance Endpoints can be installed on more than
20 different operating systems, including beta versions of 64-bit Windows and
Turbo-Linux.
NetIQ
will release updated Performance Endpoints for 64-bit Windows and Turbo-Linux
to coincide with general availability of Itanium-based hardware and operating
systems this year. Chariot 4.0 is available today. Pricing for Chariot begins
