Wise Solutions Overhauls Software Packaging Solution for IT Admins

Wise Solutions this week released a complete overhaul of its solution for helping IT administrators package software for distribution to client desktops.
Wise Solutions released Application Integration Suite. The company characterizes the suite as a major advance over the InstallManager the company introduced in December 1998 for IT administrators to package software.
The new version is more process oriented to ensure that IT managers go about packaging software in the most effective way. The software repackaging component, called PackageManager, can use script-based or Windows Installer technology. A process-oriented interface provides repackaging teams with a step-by-step approach incorporating industry best practices.
It also includes a SmartMonitor installation capture technology, that records every operation during the installation process to capture every event that occurs.
Another component, the ConflictManager, checks for file and registry conflicts among applications prior to distribution. That capability was also included in InstallManager.
Wise is well known for its software packaging solutions for software developers, Install Master and Wise for Windows Installer.
