Win2K MCSE Survey: Upgrade IS in Your Future

Survey of MCPmag.com newsletter recipients indicates large number of NT 4.0 MCSEs plan to recertify before the deadline.

According to a recent MCPmag.com e-mail survey, 69 percent of NT 4.0 MCSEs said they had planned to recertify before the year-end deadline. In fact, those who planned to also outnumbered those who did not plan to recertify by 7 to 1.

The survey also asked about interest in the 70-240, Win2K Accelerated exam. Of those who are qualified to take it, nearly three-quarters of respondents said they had obtained the voucher but haven't yet registered for the exam.

The survey also polled respondents to choose exams that they expected to take (taking the exam before the deadline or passing it was not an issue). As was expected, the top three choices were the Win2K-related Design exams (70-219, 70-220, 70-221, and 70-222), followed by 70-224, Exchange 2000; 70-244, Supporting NT 4.0; and 70-228, SQL Admin.

The survey was not scientific. It was sent out to nearly 100,000 MCPmag.com newsletter recipients on June 7, with voting closed on June 22. The survey received 4,111 unique responses. To receive a copy of the original newsletter, write to [email protected].
