In an announcement to show momentum behind its XML-based enterprise application integration server, Microsoft this week noted that a half dozen system integrators are building enterprise solutions using BizTalk Server.
The first version of BizTalk Server 2000 was released in September 2000, and an upgrade release is expected sometime in the first half of this year.
Large system integrators with consultants trained in BizTalk Server implementations are Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Compuware Corp., Compaq Global Services and KPMG Consulting Inc. Microsoft's momentum statement also lists Accenture and Avanade Inc., although it should be noted that Avanade is a joint consulting venture of Microsoft and Accenture.
Microsoft claims it reached 800 customers in its first year on the market with BizTalk Server.
Information on the system integrators can be found here.
