Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration
Things are heating up in the enterprise messaging and collaboration market, which remains a tight contest between Microsoft and IBM Lotus. This month IBM released the long-awaited R6 of its Lotus Domino/Notes suite, with a heavy emphasis on TCO. Meanwhile, Microsoft called the faithful to Anaheim, Calif. for the Microsoft Exchange Conference to learn about the future of Exchange and Outlook. A new version of Exchange code-named Titanium is slated for release next year.
Meanwhile, analyst studies are shattering some of the long-held myths about the differences between the two platforms.
