Beta Testing for Enterprise Project Management Exam Next Week
Project management-based exam from Microsoft beta testing from Dec. 8 to Jan. 2, 2004.
As expected, Microsoft Corp. plans to release the beta version of Exam 70-281, Planning, Deploying, and Managing an Enterprise Project Management Solution, on December 8. The beta testing phase for this exam will continue until January 2, 2004 at most testing centers. Registration for this exam is currently open online at
Prometric and
VUE. Microsoft Corp. doesn't typically comment on exams under development.
Exam 70-281, numbered 71-281 while in beta, is a project management-oriented exam for which Microsoft recommends candidates have at least three years of IT experience, according to the exam objective guide (click here to read it). The exam, an elective option under the MCSE on Windows 2003 track, is steeped in Microsoft technology and covers the gamut: Windows Server 2003, Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS), Windows SharePoint Services, SQL Server 2000, Project Server 2003, Project Professional 2003, OLAP data services, Office web components, messaging and collaboration platforms, and network security products and technologies. Microsoft currently lists one training resource for this exam: 2732, Planning, Deploying, and Managing an Enterprise Project Management Solution, a five-day, instructor-led course which is being rolled out to Microsoft Certified Training and Education Centers beginning December 15.
