DirectoryLockdown 4.0 for Active Directory Ships
NetPro Computing announced it is shipping a major upgrade to its distributed
services management product for Active Directory.
DirectoryLockdown 4.0 prevents unauthorized infrastructure changes to AD and
notifies administrators when such changes are attempted.
"DirectoryLockdown ushers in a new generation of AD change management
functionality, preventing unauthorized schema and configuration changes from
ever taking place,” said Brad Hibbert, vice president of strategy for
Phoenix-based NetPro, in a statement.
The latest update locks down domain controllers from both internal and external
security threats, detailing who attempted what changes and where and when they
were attempted. Newly enhanced anti-tampering technology blocks unauthorized
changes before they are replicated forest-wide.
DirectoryLockdown 4.0 also includes a new change console that provides centralized
access to functions ranging from agent controls and notification options to
a new permitted change list. Version 4.0 also features an improved deployment
wizard to enable simple and flexible deployment, as well as integration with
platforms such as Microsoft Operations Manager and HP OpenView, according to
NetPro’s statement.
