Microsoft Creates Desktop Deployment Portal

Microsoft Corp. launched a portal Wednesday that is a mix of technical and business resources and marketing material for organizations considering or executing a deployment of Windows XP or Office XP.

Microsoft characterizes the new Desktop Deployment Resource Center as a "one-stop shop" for business decision-makers and IT professionals in the process of evaluating, deploying and maintaining Microsoft Windows XP and Office XP.

The site is divided into resources for organizations of 50-250 seats, 250-5,000 seats and more than 5,000 seats. It is further divided into migration stages that include business evaluation, technical evaluation, planning, deployment and maintenance.

The site is located at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/deployment/.
