ASP.NET for Developers Series

13 CDs full of video training, for a total of 39 hours of recorded material. The goal is to teach you everything about ASP.NET, and while you might not learn everything you will learn a heck of a lot. The topics start with an introduction to ASP.NET, and then work through controls, data access and display, web services, migrating from classic ASP, session state, custom controls, caching, performance, get the picture.

There's a lot more here than the video (which includes instructor segments, some slides, and lots of demos). You get a complete courseware manual on disk that makes for great reference material, exercises, and questions to test your knowledge of the material as well. The technical level is challenging but not overwhelming. And if you do run into something that you already know well, the index is granular enough that you can skip forward in small chunks.

The price may seem a bit high, but if you consider what you'd pay for a full week of classroom training including travel expenses it looks a lot more reasonable. And you'll find this a really quick way to get up to speed with ASP.NET. So if you get thrown into that technology and are feeling a bit panicky, this is definitely worth checking out.

(Just a quick disclaimer: Ken Getz, Mary Chipman, and Andy Baron, who are the instructors for this course, are also former business partners of mine. I don't have any financial stake in this courseware, and if you poke around the net some you'll find that they have generally excellent reputations).
