Microsoft Corp. and ICL (
www.icl.com), a global IT services company, have expanded an alliance formed in May 1998.
The alliance focuses on collaborative development of Windows operating system-based applications for consumer and corporate users of electronic business, financial services and smart cards. Corporate applications include digital solutions for online banking and shopping and business applications designed to simplify the way organizations order and sell goods electronically, and enable users to customize relationships with their customers.
The companies will establish five new solution centers in addition to the seven -- including two in the United States -- that have been established through the initial alliance. The new solution centers will be located in Botswana, Finland, Paris, India and South Africa. Two U.S. centers exist today, one in Washington and another in North Carolina.
ICL will apply technologies developed through the alliance to its four go-to-market sectors: customer relationship management, electronic business, applications and IT utility or managed services. -- Thomas Sullivan
