NetScreen Technologies, a developer of integrated Internet security appliances and systems, has announced the availability of NetScreen-Remote 2.0 virtual private network (VPN) client software. The software package secures remote access to networks, devices, or other host computer systems. NetScreen-Remote 2.0 is designed for desktop or laptop systems connected to an IP network by either an Ethernet-local area network (LAN) or remote access dialup via modem.
In addition to increased compatibility and stability, NetScreen-Remote 2.0 features IPSec-compatible security software. Operating as a Windows 9.x or NT system service, NetScreen-Remote 2.0 offers integration with Windows NT domain login from remote hosts over dialup or dedicated LAN connections. NetScreen-Remote's GUI enables users to build multiple layers of service-based policies with policy enabling and disabling.
