Windows 2000 "More Reliable" than Older Versions
Giga Information Group/Sunbelt Software survey reveals that 90 percent of those surveyed considered Windows 2000 to be more reliable than prior versions.
Giga Information Group and Sunbelt Software, Inc. recently surveyed over 1,000 MCSEs and IT managers to get an accurate reading of how reliable Windows 2000 is compared to its NT and 9.x predecessors. The survey revealed that nine out of 10 Windows 2000 Professional customers found Windows 2000 significantly more reliable than prior versions.
In fact, the survey notes, "Respondents were almost giddy in expressing their delight with the reliability and stability of W2K Professional over Windows 9.x and NT Workstation 4.0 performance." One IT manager said enthusiastically, "I have not seen a single BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) on Win 2K since I installed it over three months ago."
