Small Business Server 2000 Makes Way to Beta
Microsoft's newest rendition of network OS/application suite for small businesses goes to testing partners.
Microsoft has released into beta testing the newest version of its small business networking solution, Microsoft Small Business Server 2000. Limited to 50 PC licenses, Microsoft calls it the gateway to the its own bCentral .NET services.
The beta version of SBS 2000 will integrate efficiencies and security in SBS's handling of Internet transactions and security through a packaged suite of services that Microsoft calls Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000. SBS will also integrate instant messaging as a business-oriented communication service. Also key is the addition of the newest version of SQL Server, dubbed SQL Server 2000.
