Data General, Veritas to Distribute Cluster Servers

Data General, a division of EMC Corp., and Veritas Software Corp. announced an expansion to their alliance, in which Data General will bundle a full-feature version of Veritas ClusterX for Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) with its Cluster-in-a Box. As part of the expanded partnership, Data General will also resell Veritas ClusterX for NLB.
Data General's Cluster-in-a-Box solution combines several components, including Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, or Windows 2000 Advanced Server with MSCS; DG/ManageSuite systems management software; ManageX Event Manager, for controlling and monitoring workstations, servers, and applications; Win/Alert fault management software; application transparent failover (ATF) software for continuous access to information stored on EMC Clariion systems; and Navisphere storage management software.
Veritas ClusterX for MSCS is a clustering solution for Windows NT and 2000 server clusters. ClusterX supports multiple applications in MSCS clustered environments and is part of the Veritas Exchange Initiative.
