Microsoft, NetIQ Sign Licensing Agreement

Today at the Intel Exchange conference in San Francisco,
Microsoft Corp. and
NetIQ Corp. announced a technology licensing agreement and
partnership in operations management.
Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will license the
NetIQ Operations Manager technology for managing the Microsoft Windows 2000
operating system and Microsoft .NET Enterprise Servers. The companies will also
collaborate on the development and marketing of additional management solutions
for servers, clients, applications, and devices.
In addition, Microsoft will designate NetIQ as its premier
ISV for solutions built on Microsoft’s operations management product. These
solutions will include management of non-Microsoft environments, management of
Windows NT 4.0-based environments, and advanced security and network performance
