Exabyte Corp. announced two new products in its family of
multi-technology tape libraries and autoloaders. The design of this family
currently accommodates MammothTape and LTO Ultirum technologies and will soon
include Super DLTape technology. The newest members of the family are the 215M
MammothTape library powered by M2 tape drives, and the 110L LTO Ultrium
autoloader.
Both the 215M and 110L occupy just one cubic foot and 5U of
rack space. Both feature a removable data cartridge magazine. Available options
include Fibre Channel and Ethernet connectivity for optimized use in SAN
applications, and bar code capability.
The 215M delivers up to 900 GB (2.25 TB compressed) of
capacity and 86.4 GB/hour (216 GB compressed) of data throughput. The 215M also
includes SmartClean technology, ensuring data security through an automatic
self-cleaning process. The 110L provides native capacities of 1 TB (2 TB
compressed) and native data throughput of 54 GB/hour (108 GB compressed).
