Microsoft Corp.,
Compaq Computer Corp., and
Clarus Corp. have joined forces to create
business-to-business (B2B) ExchangePaqs, a complete e-commerce solution that
provides users with the necessary hardware, software, and consulting services
and support necessary to develop digital marketplaces. B2B ExchangePaqs feature
the marketplace framework of Clarus eMarket, the Microsoft .NET Enterprise
Servers, Compaq ProLiant servers, StorageWorks, and design and implementation
from Compaq Global Services.
The solution allows autonomous operation of the marketplace,
lower cost of ownership, collaborative content management, and packaged analytics.
B2B ExchangePaqs provide rapid speed-to-market deployment and are designed to
fulfill the B2B promise of time to business results for private exchanges.
These invitation-only exchanges facilitate limited exposure of confidential or
competitive information.
“Working together with great partners such as Clarus and
Compaq we can harness the power, reliability, and scalability of Microsoft
Windows 2000 and the .NET Enterprise Servers to offer our joint customers
integrated B2B private exchange solutions,” said Ian Rogoff, vice president of
Microsoft’s Partner Business Unit.
To provide platform and integration expertise, Compaq Global
Services is a Worldwide Prime Integrator for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000.
Compaq will train and certify 1,000 consultants on the Microsoft .NET Server
platform. – Isaac Slepner
