MTI Technology Corp. introduced the MTI Vivant 25 (V25) SAN
storage appliance as a new member of the Vivant product family based on MTI
Data Services Architecture. The V25 provides enterprise class functionality.
The V25 combines multiple Fibre Channel storage servers into
a single cabinet. It is engineered for high performance online transaction
processing (OLTP) or database applications that are performance intensive, as
opposed to storage intensive.
The V25 features ten 100 MB-per-second interfaces for
attachment of five dual attached host servers and eight 100 MB-per-second Fibre
Channel paths for 48 dual-ported 10,000-RPM 36-GB and 73-GB Fibre Channel
drives. The V25 supports RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, and 5; multiple hot spare disk
drives and concurrent rebuilds; and fully redundant components including
mirrored cache.
