ActiveBatch 3.0 Comes to Market

Advanced Systems Concepts has announced the availability of
ActiveBatch version 3.0. The enterprise job scheduling management product was
built for Windows 2000/ NT but can execute jobs on Unix and Open VMX systems as
well.
ActiveBatch 3.0 allows system administrators to schedule
events either on a regular basis or as a response to a designated event. The
latest version of the product enables both hardware and software events to be
actionable. This means that an event can be scheduled to run as a response to
either a hardware or software problem.
The latest iteration also includes an alert system. With
this capability, the system will notify the administrator by e-mail or pager if
an event fails, runs over, or is incomplete. Other new features include a GUI
interface with a command line and support for Microsoft’s management console
snap-in for the COM-based interface. With ActiveBatch, any object oriented
programming language can be used. The product is currently available and can be
downloaded from the company’s Web site.
