Storage giant
EMC Corp.
shuffled its senior management yesterday.
EMC founder and executive chairman Dick Egan will assume
the role of Chairman Emeritus, passing the baton to current CEO Mike Ruettgers.
Joe Tucci, who currently serves as president and COO, will become president and
CEO.
Egan founded EMC in 1979. Ruettgers has led EMC for the
past nine years, taking the company from a startup, to a leading position among
infrastructure vendors. A relative newcomer, Tucci joined EMC in January of
last year, coming from Wang Global where he served as CEO. – Christopher McConnell
