Network Storage Solutions announced the launch of its
ProStor family of NAS servers, the newest family in its line of NAS systems.
The ProStor family features a standard Intel chassis and motherboard.
The ProStor family is highly scalable, supporting up to four
GB of ECC SDRAM and dual load-sharing hot-swappable power supplies. The system
ships with a five-drive back plane, which can be upgraded to provide ten
internal drives in a pedestal configuration with a 5U rackmount option. Powered
by NSS’ SPANStor multi-protocol NAS kernel, ProStor initially supports up to
360 GB of SCSI RAID in the ProStor 360. The ProStor 730 with 730 GB of internal
storage will be available in Q2.
The system ships with an 866-MHz Intel Pentium III
processor, 66-MHz 64 bit PCI support, 256 MB of memory, and an internal,
multi-channel RAID controller.
