Oracle Releases Oracle 9i Application Server

Oracle Corp. announced the latest release of its Oracle9i Application Server, designed to provide developers with a platform for deploying e-business applications and Web sites. The newest release includes enhancements in business intelligence, e-mail collaboration, wireless technologies, and enterprise and B2B integration.

With any standard Web browser, users can now create, view, and navigate pre-defined query reports through the business intelligence capabilities. The new integration capabilities enable companies to integrate Web applications within and between enterprises, while also effectively managing business processes. The enhanced wireless capabilities include personalization, content management and messaging. Finally, the e-mail collaboration technology in Oracle9iAS provides e-business applications with messaging capabilities, allowing companies to add e-mail functions to their applications.

Oracle9i Application Server costs $5 per Universal Power Unit for the Standard Edition, $30 per Universal Power Unit for the Enterprise Edition and $150 per Universal Power Unit for the Wireless Edition. It is scheduled to be available for purchase by the end of February through the Oracle Store.
