Aligo Offers Java Developers a Mobile Application Server

New wireless infrastructure provider Aligo announced availability of a Java-based mobile application server today at Internet World Wireless in New York.

The Aligo M-1 Mobile Application Server (M-1 Server) is built for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE). Aligo plans to insulate developers from advances in wireless protocols through upgrades to the M-1 Server, allowing developers to write to the product’s Java APIs.

The product is designed with ready made components for quick application development, but also includes connectors for converting existing enterprise applications into wireless apps.

Other M-1 Server features designed to minimize developer effort include automatic presentation rendering for different mobile devices, data loss protection through session and cache management, and built-in support for multiple messaging channels such as fax or e-mail.
