Digex Inc. announced a new server-based security service,
Digex TruDefense Intrusion Detection & Prevention. Digex TruDefense
complements the managed security offerings available to Digex clients.
Digex TruDefense proactively monitors client servers,
looking for signs of attack and in many cases preventing malicious commands
from executing. It can detect or stop known hacking exploits as well as classes
of generic attacks, alerting the Digex Network Operations Center to suspicious
activity.
The new Digex service includes initial consultation, a
tuning period, 24/7 monitoring and event escalation procedures, incident
reports, and monthly summary reports. TruDefense is available in both a
standard version that provides operating system and application-level
protection services, as well as a Web server edition that adds http parsing
protection and application shielding to keep Microsoft IIS Web server files
from being modified or destroyed.
TruDefense is based on Entercept Security Technologies’
products. Entercept has the only host-based security offerings that provide
proactive intrusion prevention for the operating system and applications and
are suited for large scale implementation in Digex’s managed hosting
environment.
