PC lifecycle management vendor
Altiris Inc. today unveiled the acquisition of a third-party tools and services vendor focused on the Microsoft Systems Management Server market.
The acquisition of TekWorks for an undisclosed sum is the second SMS-related acquisition for Altiris in the last five months. Altiris bought Computing Edge in October.
TekWorks and Computing Edge were closely linked. Computing Edge had an exclusive arrangement as the sole distributor of TekWorks’ Web Administrator for Microsoft SMS 2.0, a tool that allows administrators to use SMS securely via a Web browser.
Altiris is a private company and does not discuss annual revenues. The company has 160 employees. TekWorks has 13 employees.
Altiris plans to maintain the TekWorks offices in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a development site.
Altiris is based in Utah, which is also the home of the former Computing Edge. –
