Lotus Development Corp. last week publicly confirmed its plans to continue support for version 4.6 of its Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino collaboration software.
The current version of the products is R5.
“The company remains committed to providing support for its Notes and Domino 4.6 users while offering an evolutionary path for moving customers to the R5 product set with little disruption of daily business processes,” the IBM subsidiary said in a statement.
IT support and phone support for version 4.6 of Notes, Domino and Domino Designer will continue through January 2003. Engineering support for the products will end in January 2002.
The company says it will evaluate the need to continue support in January 2003, although Lotus also says it expects most of its customers will be on R5 by 2002.
