Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday introduced four supply chain modules for the Great Plains ERP product it acquired earlier this year.
The mid-market focused modules target warehouse management, demand planning, inventory planning and replenishment management. Prices for the modules range from $22,500 to $60,000.
All the modules of the Great Plains Supply Chain Series are integrated with Microsoft's Great Plains eEnterprise.
Users of the warehouse management module can optimize space through configuration rules, guide workers to optimal paths through the warehouse via radio frequency technology and use workflows to direct selecting, packing and shipping goods.
Algorithms within the demand planning module convert up to three years worth of data into forecasts, which users can override for special events and promotions and drill into for analysis.
The inventory planning module is set up to generate recommendations on inventory based on service-level goals, while the replenishment planning module guides companies through reordering supplies and products to meet demand.
Microsoft announced an agreement to buy the 19-year-old Great Plains in December and closed the $1.1 billion stock transaction in April.
