One of the major advances of Windows 2000 is the extensive use of distributed
services such as Active Directory, Kerberos, PKI, COM+ and more. This
book by David Chappell is an excellent overview for managers and developers
who want to learn more about Win2K. The book is well designed, with clear
descriptions of each of the major distributed services in Win2K. It's
also loaded with useful diagrams which help to set the distributed services
picture in the reader's mind.

The book is meant as an overall guide and as such doesn't into great
detail about each service. Rather, it gives the reader an understanding
of each service's purpose and capabilities. Understanding Microsoft Windows
2000 Distributed Services is a great starting point if you need to learn
about these services.
