Two More Vendors Certify Their Apps with Commerce Server

Microsoft said Wednesday that two more vendors have certified with an independent laboratory that their applications integrate tightly with Microsoft's Commerce Server 2000.
The announcement brings to eight the total number of application vendors to get their apps certified for integration with Microsoft's e-commerce server software.
The newly certified companies are CyberSource and FAST. CyberSource is billed as a provider of risk management and electronic payment solutions. FAST, for Fast Search & Transfer ASA, is a provider of data search and real-time alerting technology.
The application testing is conducted for Microsoft by Veritest, the same company that handled application certification for the Windows 2000 platform.
The Commerce Server 2000 specific test is known as the Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 Technical Integration Testing. It tests that the applications plug-in to Commerce Server properly and take advantage of manageability and scalability features in the e-commerce platform.
Other companies to complete the Commerce Server test are Eprise Corp., Equilibrium, Interact Commerce Corp., Mondosoft A/S, Ncompass Inc. and Visual Insights. Microsoft acquired Ncompass in April 2001 and turned its Resolution product into Microsoft Content Management Server.
Commerce Server 2000 is Microsoft's fourth generation of e-commerce software for building and running e-commerce sites. It has been sold under various names since 1996.
Earlier this month, Microsoft released a beta version of Commerce Server 2002. It was scheduled to ship in the first half of this year.
