70-214, Implementing Security Gets Beta Tested Next Week
Registration for this MCSE elective exam already underway.
Exam 70-214, Implementing Security on a Windows 2000 Network, gets beta tested next week, Oct. 10-17. While in beta, the exam will be numbered 71-214. Registration is already underway for this exam. An MCSE elective, Exam 70-214 tests a candidates "ability to implement and administer security and network infrastructures that use Windows 2000 and Active Directory," according to the exam objective guide posted at
http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/exams/70-214.asp. Skills include ability to configure and deploy security templates and troubleshoot problems; configure security based on computer roles, including on SQL Server, Exchange Server, domain controllers, and Internet Access Service computers; and configuring and troubleshooting IPSec and authentication.
Microsoft offers beta exams to qualified candidates by invitation-only, typically chosen from those who have taken an exam in the past and based on a candidate's expertise, as well as those who subscribe to Microsoft's MCP Flash newsletter.
