Shoring Up Security Skills for Free
Hand-on lab provides online access to security skills lab available for limited time.
Microsoft Corp. has added a new hands-on online lab to its e-Learning site that targets students who want to understand security in the context of a Windows network. Called, "Hands-On Lab 2811: Applying Microsoft Security Guidance Training," the course covers implementation of client and server security, managing security updates and locking down applications. According to a guide posted on the Microsoft e-Learning site, the course takes about eight hours to complete.
The online course is free for a limited time, but the company doesn't specify when the offer expires. Other e-Learning courses that are listed on the site compare at $349.
