Microsoft Names New MVPs for 2005
Eleventh year of Microsoft MVP program recognizes professionals in eight more countries. Also: Microsoft Office Outlook Live.
Microsoft announced Wednesday the 2005 class of
Microsoft
Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) ahead of its upcoming annual MVP Global
Summit, which will take place Sept. 28-Oct. 1 in Redmond, Wash. This year is
the 11th year of the Microsoft MVP program, which has recognized more than 2,600
Microsoft experts in the technical community across 81 countries, 32 languages
and 75 Microsoft products and technologies. New countries represented in the
MVP program include Egypt, El Salvador, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Saudi Arabia,
Tokelau and Tunisia. Since October, Microsoft has awarded 173 first-time MVPs.

MSN Hotmail users will now be able to enjoy the functionality of Microsoft
Outlook on the Web with Microsoft Office Outlook Live,
a subscription-based service that will be offered in the United States, the
United Kingdom and Canada. With a downloadable subscription, users can view
and manage e-mail accounts, contacts and calendars from any location with the
added benefits of 2GB of online storage, 20MB attachments, and spam and virus
protection. Until Apr. 15, subscription for Outlook Live is $44.95 per year
