ScriptLogic Ships Enterprise Security Reporter 3.0

Network administration software vendor ScriptLogic announced this week it is shipping the latest revision of its security compliance and auditing solution.

Enterprise Security Reporter 3.0 features a new user interface, faster discovery, security snapshot “delta” comparisons and more customizable reports, according to a statement by the Boca Raton, Fla.-based company.

The product is designed to automatically discover security settings in Active Directory and Windows servers, to provide reports on what it discovers, to provide analysis tools to detect changes between a pair of snapshots and to send reports to administrators via any SMTP-based mail system.

It takes snapshots of security settings on files, folders, file shares and other resources, and captures local and global user and group information from a central location without installing agents on target servers.

Performance improvements in version 3.0, which features a new “agentless” discovery engine, result in a 500 percent speed increase in the capture process for security information, the company said. It gathers data without installing agents on any of the target servers, minimizing setup time and impact on production systems.

In addition, new distributed discovery engines also cut down bandwidth demands for discovery at remote locations. New report customization capabilities are designed to let an IT administrator customize and create new reports in minutes that previously took much longer. Reports are now stored in a central SQL database so that multiple administrators can share frequently-used files, or take copies into their own personal caches for further customization.

ScriptLogic Enterprise Security Reporter 3.0 is priced on a per-server basis, starting at $749, including a year of maintenance.
