Allen Systems Group Inc. (ASG) has announced the latest release of ASG-Impact Expert, a solution for creating intuitive, self-servicing expert systems.
ASG-Impact Expert provides a graphical interface to create rule-based expert systems that emulate, through decision trees, the problem-solving capabilities of human experts who specialize in certain areas of business. The solution is integrated so that it can be started from within the LAN environment and Web-enabled via ASG-KnowledgeWave. ASG-Impact Expert provides instant, online guidance for service desk personnel in gathering the appropriate information concerning a particular "expert" question and in providing an answer or resolution. ASG-Impact Expert can be tailored to fit site-specific situations and can be used throughout the entire organization for making decisions beyond service desk issues.
The 32-bit enhanced release of ASG-Impact Expert allows users to include any audio or video file in a decision tree and provides the ability to run and edit ASG-Impact Expert applications from the Microsoft Windows Explorer. This latest release also allows Impact Expert to accept long file names, improves the readibility of output files used by ASG-Impact, supports ServiceWare's KnowledgePak version 2.x format files and has an enhanced ODBC function that allows connection to the DB2 Universal Server, Oracle, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access databases.
