Business Web site designers who a have a difficult time
deciding between compression formats or animation algorithms, have a new option.
BeatWare Inc. unveiled the new release of e-Picture at the MacWorld expo.
e-Picture 2.0 is an animation utility that can export to many of the file types
frequently used on the Web.
Capaple of exporting Flash, QuickTime, animated GIF and
other streaming standards, e-picture 2.0 offers designers the ability to cater
to an audience’s needs for file type, unrestricted by the authoring software.
e-Picture 2.0 is compatible with Windows NT, MacOS, and
BeOS operating systems, allowing files to be created and edited on a variety of
machines.
The new release includes support for animation of 3D
objects, non-linear narratives, and accelerated motion.
Like its predecessor, e-Picture 2.0 integrates vector
scaling and bitmapping to create a unique animation algorithm. Vector Scaling,
which is used by Flash, occasionally results in poor image quality, while
bitmapping, requires each frame to be created, often resulting in large file
sizes. E-Picture 2.0 will be available at the end of Q1, 2000.
