DataChannel Delivers XML Portal Server

DataChannel, a provider of XML-based enterprise information portal (EIP) solutions, has released DataChannel Server (DCS) 4.0. DCS 4.0 is the core of the DataChannel EIP Solutions Framework.
DCS 4.0 is a platform for building, delivering, and managing XML-based EIPs for e-business. DCS 4.0 makes all of a company's enterprise information accessible to employees, customers, and partners through a secure, personalized Web interface.
DCS 4.0 provides an intuitive, personalized interface to enterprise information that looks similar to many portal Web sites. It is based on XSL templates and users can set up subscription notifications to keep track of changing information. DCS 4.0 also provides natural language concept search, keyword search, idiom recognition, fielded search, query by example, and other searches.
Integrated permissions-based publishing allows a user to publish through a Web browser. DCS 4.0 uses a new Web standard for collaboration over Web protocols called Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV), a collaboration process previously available only with proprietary systems. The portal integrates with existing LDAP directories for simpler deployment, and supports interfaces to external data sources that enable integration to legacy data and applications.
