Compaq, Integra to Build E-Commerce in Europe

Compaq Computer Corp. and Integra, a European Internet site operator and provider of e-commerce solutions, announced plans for a strategic collaboration to deliver an e-commerce infrastructure at Integra's Technical Centres in several European cities.

Integra will use Compaq ProLiant servers and Compaq StorageWorks products as preferred data solutions.

Integra (www.integra-europe.com) operates round-the-clock mission-critical e-commerce and m-commerce applications. It has committed to further industrialize its managed hosting infrastructure and to standardize on Compaq's (www.compaq.com) servers and storage systems. Integra will deploy Compaq's Intel-based servers, including the new ProLiant DL360 servers built on Intel's Pentium III processor.

Integra and Compaq are building a partnership aimed at meeting the defined service level agreements of end customers, including major accounts, small and medium-sized enterprises, and e-commerce stores.

In other segments of the partnership, Integra will also use Compaq's Competence Centers in order to define optimized architecture for e-commerce applications. There will be regular knowledge transfer programs within Integra technical centers in order to optimize internal installation and use of Compaq technology, and Integra will certify its engineers in Compaq's Accredited System Engineer (ASE) program.

Integra's Technical Centres are located in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Oslo, and Paris. - Isaac Slepner
