NTP Software announced the latest version of its System
Sentinel with fault tolerance.
System Sentinel is a self-diagnosing and troubleshooting
solution that pinpoints internal system and application problems or failures
and restarts failed applications and system services. System Sentinel monitors
critical applications; Windows event logs and Unix and Linux syslogs, and
TCP/IP servers and devices.
System Sentinel’s built-in fault tolerance ensures that the
monitoring and management of a system will continue without interruption if the
primary server running System Sentinel fails. If the primary server fails, the
first backup takes over, with several more backups on standby.
System Sentinel ships with Advanced Application Management
Kits (AAMKs) for the most critical applications and operating systems. The kits
are comprised of predefined templates with settings for monitoring
applications. Kits are provided for Windows NT, Windows 2000, Exchange, SQL
Server, IIS, Proxy Server, SMS, Compaq Insight Manager, and Citrix MetaFrame,
among others.
System Sentinel also features Enterprise Application Services
Extension (EASE) to provide unified distributed application management for
System Sentinel 5.1.
