Neoware
Systems Inc. today announced the immediate availability of a new suite of management
tools that supports a wide range of operating systems.
The
new Eon models include support for Windows CE, Linux, and Embedded NT, among
other operating systems. It includes four different models: the Eon 2000, 3000,
4000, and 5000.
Eon 2000 supports Microsoft RDP, Citric ICA and terminal
emulation, enabling users to run Windows applications on servers, while also
connecting to minicomputers or Unix machines.
A Windows-CE based family of products, Eon 3000 includes
support for Microsoft RDP, Citrix ICA, Internet Explorer browser, and a full
suite of terminal emulations (IBM 5250 and 3270, HP 700/92, etc.)
Eon 4000 is a line of smart Linux appliances that runs
Windows, Unix, X Window, Internet, Java, and mainframe applications.
The final product family, Eon 5000, offers Neoware’s
security and management enhancements with Microsoft’s Windows NT embedded
operating system. In addition, Eon 5000 can be customized to add additional
Windows-based applications locally for a variety of vertical markets.
Neoware also has a guaranteed investment protection plan
that allows users migrate from one model to another at any time by updating
memory in the Eon platform and changing software.
All Eon models are remotely managed using industry-standard protocols and by a
new version of Neoware's suite of
management products, called ezRemote Manager 2.0. – Jim Martin
