Chapparal Network Storage Inc. announced it is shipping its
two-gigabit per second (2Gb/s) storage routers. The Chapparal FS2620 allows for
easy attachment of SCSI devices to Fibre Channel enabled servers or SANs.
The FS2620 is designed for high performance and features a
sustained data transfer rate of over 300 MB per second and more than 16,000 I/O
operations per second (IOPS). The FS2620 has two 1Gb or 2Gb per second Fibre
Channel ports for host connectivity and six Ultra 160 SCSI LVD device busses.
The FS2620 router utilizes Chapparal’s robust menu-based user interface and
SNMP support for added management functionality.
The FS2620 includes an Extended Copy feature for high-speed
serverless backup over Fibre Channel. This feature works with backup software
to provide serverless backup capabilities.
