Microsoft Corp.
announced a corporate preview release of Office XP on Wednesday. Through the
Corporate Preview Program, Microsoft is expanding the number of Office beta
users from 10,000 customers to more than 500,000.
Customers participating in the program will have the chance

and also makes accessing information from multiple sources much easier. Another
new feature of Office XP is Web collaboration abilities, which enable customers
to work with other people through e-mail and annotation technologies.
Office XP will include the latest versions of Microsoft Word
2002 word processing software, Microsoft Outlook 2002 messaging and
collaboration client, Microsoft Excel 2002 spreadsheet application, Microsoft
Access 2002 database application, and the Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Web site and
creation tool.
The release kit costs $19.95 and can be evaluated and used
until August 31. – Jim Martin
